BIOGRAPHY



Ir. Diana Kusumastuti, MT.

is an Indonesian architect and senior civil servant, who earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Universitas Diponegoro in 1991 and a Master of Engineering in Development Studies from Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2004. Joining the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in 1993, Diana held various positions, including Director General of Cipta Karya from 2020 to 2024. In October 2024, she was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Public Works in President Prabowo Subianto’s cabinet. Diana has been recognized for her leadership, receiving the ASN Teladan Award in 2020 for her work on heritage-sensitive infrastructure projects and rapid COVID-19 hospital constructions.

Dr. Adrian Yat Wai Lo.

is an urban design expert and Director of the UDDI program at Thammasat Design School, Thailand. He holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Auckland and has worked across New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, and Nepal. His work focuses on sustainable urban development, informal urbanism, and inclusive city planning in Southeast Asia. Dr. Lo leads community-based projects like "Transforming Thanyaburi" to promote SDG-aligned urban improvements. He also explores climate-responsive tropical architecture using principles like Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and low-carbon mobility.

Bertram Wong, B. Arch.

is a licensed California architect with over 30 years of experience in destination development, urban planning, and project management. He has led major developments in Bintan Island, BSD City in Indonesia, and Hainan Island, China. His expertise includes master planning, infrastructure development, hotel and property design, and environmental impact assessment. Bertram has worked with listed companies and played a key role in a successful public listing on the Singapore Exchange. Born and educated in Los Angeles, he has spent the last 25 years working across Asia, blending Eastern and Western perspectives in his work.

Dr. Deprizon Syamsunur

is an Associate Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department at UCSI University, Malaysia. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and has been actively involved in teaching and research since 2000. His research interests encompass intelligent transportation systems, highway engineering, and the application of artificial intelligence in civil engineering. Dr. Syamsunur has authored over 100 scientific papers and has been a principal investigator in various research projects. He is a member of professional bodies such as the Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET) and the Transportation Science Society of Malaysia (TSSM) .

Dr. Kefeng Zhang

He is a dedicated researcher specializing in stormwater management and the application of nature-based solutions (NBS) such as bioretention systems, wetlands, and green walls for urban water treatment. His expertise includes assessing pollution and risks associated with stormwater, greywater, and pre-treated wastewater, and applying NBS to effectively mitigate these risks. He also investigates nutrient dynamics and the fate of emerging contaminants in these systems. He was awarded an ARC DECRA Fellowship, through which he developed frameworks for quantifying, controlling, and monitoring risks in stormwater harvesting systems, incorporating real-time control and monitoring technologies.

Prof. Sung Hong Kim

is a distinguished academic in architecture and urbanism at the University of Seoul. He earned his M.Arch. from UC Berkeley and Ph.D. from Georgia Tech, following a B.S. from Hanyang University. His research focuses on contemporary Korean architecture and urbanism, with numerous publications and books on the subject. He has curated international exhibitions, including the Korean Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale. Additionally, he has held significant academic and administrative roles, such as Provost of the Planning and Research Office at the University of Seoul and serving on the Review Committee for Architecture & Urban Planning and Design for the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Prof. Alex Lechner

is a landscape ecologist and Professor of Urban Design at Monash University Indonesia. He holds a BSc in Ecology from the University of Queensland, an MAppSci in Geospatial Science, and a PhD in Landscape Ecology from RMIT University. With over a decade of international experience, he has taught and conducted research at institutions in Australia, Malaysia, the UK, and Indonesia. His research focuses on sustainable urban planning, biodiversity conservation, and the application of spatially explicit modeling and remote sensing. He also serves as the Vice President of Research and Chair of the Research Committee at Monash University Indonesia, promoting transdisciplinary approaches to global environmental and social challenges.

Prof. Dipl. -Ing. Markus Vogl

served as the Director of the Walter Gropius Chair at the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires from 2017 to 2022. He was also a full professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the same institution. Vogl has taught at several renowned universities, including TU Delft, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Vienna, the University of Innsbruck, and the University of Stuttgart. He is an architect and urban planner, and a partner at Studio Urbane Strategien in Stuttgart. His work focuses on urban strategies and architectural design.

Markus Jung ARB AKH

is an architect and urban designer currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Art, Design and Architecture at Monash University in Australia. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Stuttgart and is a registered architect in Austria (AKH) and the United Kingdom (ARB). Jung co-founded XPACE, an architecture and urban design practice that focuses on urban diversity and sustainable development. His research and practice explore metropolitan transformation, integrating existing urban fabrics and resources to foster resilient growth. Jung is also an advocate for architectural education and has contributed to various international design events and publications.
